Using AMB Transponders with RiderHQ Other guides

AMB

If you have AMB Transponder equipment you can transfer your list of entries from RiderHQ to the AMB Data Collector programme on your computer. This will save you typing in entry details manually and avoids introducing typos, here's how:

Uploading your transponder list:

AMB transponders each have a unique ID, something like 'HZ-51835'. You will want to assign each of your transponders a number (1, 2, 3..) so that you can hand them out to the riders on the entry-list and know which rider is using which transponder.

You will also need to tell RiderHQ which transponder corresponds to which number (e.g. transponder 'LN-10574' corresponds to rider 1 on the entry-list).

To do this, you upload a file to RiderHQ matching transponder-IDs to entry-list numbers. It doesn't matter which transponder has which number, as long as you remember to give the right transponder to the right rider. So if you have designated transponder 'HZ-51835' as 'transponder1' then you must make sure that rider number 1 on the entry-list uses transponder 'HZ-51835'. You can prepare the upload file in a programme like Excel, or in a 'text editor' such as Notepad or TextEdit on the Mac (more details below).

You can upload a different transponder list for each event you run, or if you upload a transponder list for one event, RiderHQ will automatically default to using that transponder list for subsequent events. This saves you having to upload transponder lists for each event if you only use one set of transponders. To upload a transponder list do the following:

  1. login to RiderHQ and go to your event's page.
  2. Click on 'Upload transponder file' at the top right.
  3. Follow the instructions there to create a transponder file.
  4. Use the 'Browse...' button to select the file on your computer, and click 'Upload' to upload it to RiderHQ

Transferring your Entry list from RiderHQ to AMB Data Collector:

  1. When you are ready to stop accepting entries for your event, login to RiderHQ and go to your event's page.
  2. Click on the 'AMB file' button at the top of the page, save the file somewhere on your computer.
  3. Launch 'AMB Data Collector 3' on your computer.
  4. Create a new event, do not add competitors at this stage
  5. Go to the 'Registration' tab, choose 'Import competitors'
  6. AMB Data Collector 3 screen-shot
  7. Select the file you saved in step 2.
  8. That's it! AMB Data Collector should load the entrant details from the file you saved, complete with names and numbers

Once you have imported the entry list details into AMB Data Collector, use the 'Sign-on sheet' button on your event's home page to print out a signing-on sheet. The numbers on the signing on sheet will match the numbers in the Data Collector programme, this way, when competitors sign on you can issue them with the transponder that corresponds to their race number.

Uploading results from AMB Data Collector to RiderHQ:

  1. Go to the 'Processing tab', select 'All Passings', and click on 'Export passings to file'
