Rider Introduction Other guides
RiderHQ offers listings and online entry for cycle events. As a rider this means you can enter and pay using this website, avoiding the hassle of sending forms by post and writing cheques. You can also see who else is entered, and get confirmation that you are in immediately, which saves wasted journeys in the hope of 'entry on the line'.
4 Steps to enter a race
- register as a user of the site
- Go to the event's homepage - find it via the main page
- Click on 'enter' if entries area available. This allows registers you as a 'reserve' rider, to confirm your place in the event:
- Pay the entry fee, using the 'Google Checkout' button next to your name in the list of entries
FAQ
Why can I see my name/email address on the event's entry page but no one else's?
If the organiser has made the entry list 'private' only nicknames are shown instead of riders' full names. However, if you are logged in you will be able to see your own name (or email address if you didn't enter a name), this is so that you can easily identify which entry is yours. The organiser can see everyone's names/email addresses (if he/she is logged in).
What does 'Register' for an event mean?
If an event is listed on RiderHQ, but the organiser did not set it up, you can still 'register' using RiderHQ. The organiser will not know that you want to enter (unless he/she visits RiderHQ), but:
- The event will show up as 'entered' on the homepage and in your profile and calendars, so you, and others, can keep track of what you are doing.
- We will auto-generate an entry form for BC events, that you can print and post off (or email)
- When we post the results for this event they will automatically show up in your profile (if you are among them!)
- If the organiser 'claims' the event at a later stage and enables online payment, you can pay online then (if you haven't already sent a cheque).
What if the race gets cancelled after I have paid?
We will let you know by email (assuming you have opted in for the emails) and refund your entry fee, less our processing fee (approx 5%).
