***NOTE: NEW RACE COURSE BUT SAME HQ***
Sad to say our usual Bletchingley race course is not available this year. Not only have the potholes on Outwood Lane rendered the course unsafe, there are now temporary traffic lights on Cooper’s Hill Road, due to a landslip, which will be there for quite some time.
I've therefore been looking for a suitable alternative, with Tom’s help. We have three main challenges. Firstly, going too far afield makes it hard for me to get volunteers to any proposed course. Secondly, we are not able to race anywhere in Kent at the moment due to Kent Police requiring all road races to have AMS, which the LVRC doesn’t have access to. Finally, we need to find a safe, risk-assessed course, which isn’t easy after the winter we’ve just had. It’s also relevant that we have the Bletchingley Hall booked and deposit paid for the HQ.
That means I’m going for the South Nutfield course. The roads are mostly very good, with some exceptions, it’s close enough to home for me to get volunteers to and we can still use the Bletchingley Hall as the HQ. The BIG downside its that it’s quite a short course, 6.6 miles in length, so we’ll have to run two separate races. I’m really gutted about that, because of the inevitable consequences for attendance at the prize giving.

15:30 - PRIZES
*** START-LIST PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO RIDERS WHO ARE WITHIN 15 POINTS OF A TOP-THREE POSITION IN THE SERIES, AFTER THE PENULTIMATE EVENT ON 13 AUGUST. IT IS UNLIKELY, BUT POSSIBLE, THAT SOME RIDERS MAY BE MOVED TO THE RESERVES LIST. I VERY MUCH HOPE THIS ISN'T THE CASE BUT REFUNDS WILL, OF COURSE, BE PROVIDED IN THE EVENT THAT A RIDER IS NOT ABLE TO RACE BECUASE OF THIS POLICY ***
