Harborough Triathlon 2nd September 2018 - Swim starts from 1.30pm

The Racing

A pool based, beginner friendly triathlon with something for everyone.

Distances available are:

Try-a-Tri 200m/11.5K/2.5K

Sprint 400m/23K/5K

Bridge 600m/34.5K/7.5K

The Sprint distance is also available as a Relay. The format is that one person does the swim, a second person does the bike and a third person does the run but if you are stuck, someone can double up. Please note that all non-BTF members will need to buy a day license costing £5. You will be asked to pay for this when you enter. BTF members must bring their membership card on the day.  Relay entry costs already include 3 x £5 day licenses and 3 x t-shirts/medals.

The Bling

T-shirt and medal for all finishers.

Trophies and prizes supplied by the Training Shed, Market Harborough for Top 3 in each distance.

AG winners get a trophy.

Please make sure that you hang around to collect AG trophies.

There are also lots of extra prizes to encourage triathletes that might not ordinarily be on the podium including New Mums, Super Vets, Fit Couples and Fit Families. More details to follow.

There is also the fiercely competitive inter-club championship, 4 to score (2 Males and 2 Females - combined time)

The Course

A 25m pool with swimmers starting every 2-4 minutes depending on the speed of the lane. Athletes will be asked to input their swim time for the distance that they are competing in. This needs to be as accurate as possible as it seeds all swimmers. You can edit your time by logging into Rider HQ and adjusting it manually up to 1 week before race day. Bridge racers will go first, followed by the sprint and then the Try-a-Tri.

The bike course is a 11.5K loop that you repeat 1, 2 or 3 times. It features a long climb out for approximately half of the distance and then a fast ride back.

The run course is very flat and is mainly on pavements with a short section on a field. It is a 2.5K loop that is repeated 1, 2 or 3 times before heading through the finish arch for a warm welcome.

Charity

The official charity for this years event is MOVE. They support children and young people living with cancer through the power of exercise and sport. Please follow the link and have a look at some of the projects that they are currently involved in. There is an option to donate when you enter online or alternatively, if you wish to support them further, there is a great fundraising pack on their website.

If you are prepared to pledge to fundraise £100, then we are happy to offer you a race entry for the distance of your choice for £10. Please get in touch, if you are interested.
