about i-Team.cc

i-Team.cc homepage

Since 2003, i-Team (the Internet Team,) has offered an alternative to a traditional, geographically based cycling club & has acted as a gateway into organised cycling for hundreds of cyclists.

Just like traditional bike clubs, i-Team is affiliated to British Cycling, Cycling Time Trials & other local organisations, such as Surrey League - so you can represent your team in rides and races anywhere in the  United Kingdom, or The World for that matter ( - if you need it, i-Team will affiliate to it.)

i-Team is both an on on-line and an on-the-bike community of like-minded cycling enthusiasts, who respect the heritage of the sport of cycling and who also want to be part of a forward thinking organisation.

When not cycling together, i-Team members communicate with each other using web technology, socialising in the 'Team Site' virtual clubroom, where they can form relationships with other members, with the aim to ride and compete together out on the road, at the velodrome, on the single-track...

i-Team is something that you join because you buy into the 'what you see is what you get' setup. There are no committees, the membership get on with riding their bikes and the administration get on with the administration. It's a format that works, check out the testimonials.

i-Team founder, Guy Watson, provides a transparent, lean & efficient organisation, so that members can easily pool their collective skills, knowledge & experience, for the benefit of everyone in The Team.

i-Team's collective knowledge includes our Olympic medal winning and World Championship winning President, Rob Hayles, 6 British Cycling qualified coaches, a Sports Scientist, a Tour de France winning team sponsorship director, and a whole bunch of racing and sportive veterans.

i-Team was started as an internet based club at a time when a lot of bike clubs didn't even have a website! In the days before Facebook & Twitter, the concept of a whole cycling club based on the World Wide Web, may have been a bit of a stretch for some! Nowadays we are seeing some of our original ideas copied by other clubs - and it really is the best form of flattery! One thing that can't be copied is the broad base of our membership and the positive 'can-do, will-do' atitude that exists within The Team.

Core Values:

i-Team doesn't care where you live in the world, what bike you ride, or how fast you can go - what we care about is that you share our values & our passion for the sport cycling.

i-Team is a club that rewards do-ers. If you join and then just sit back and wait for the club to come to you, not much is going to happen for you. The more you contribute, the more you will get back. If you come along on a club ride, or make the effort meet up with other members at races, sportives, maybe volunteer to help with a club event, or even just contribute a positive attitude to our online community - then you are going feel part of a team and make new friends and acquaintances, and at the same time increase your cycling knowledge and experience.

i-Team is beginner friendly. We understand that we all had to start somewhere. No one is born knowing all the jargon, the riding etiquette etc. Just because we learnt the hard way doesn't mean that you have to! - just be prepared to listen & learn from your more experienced team mates.

i-Team supports your development. Whatever the ability, be it a beginner, or National Champion, all i-Team members benefit either directly, or by association with the successes of their team mates.

i-Team has Go-Ride accreditation (child friendly & safe) - over the years, we are proud to have helped talented young members develop to the point where they are able gain places on national or professional race teams - if we help you get to where you want to go - job done.
